Talent system was alright I guess, some of the talents felt useless, while others were must-haves. Dialogue was well-made, even if persuasion checks were quite easy to pass after some point. I put some of the game's songs in my usual Spotify playlist rotation I enjoyed it that much. The soundtrack and world design was always on point. Finding a combo of skills we could use to decimate our enemies is quite an unmatched feeling in other co-op experiences. Every character had his strengths, and in terms of gameplay we may as well have played different games in terms of how we built our characters. Trading items, finding runes that would suit your co-op partner's character, skillbooks and so on. Gotta say the gameplay was top-notch, you had to think what move to use, when to use it, and ask your co-op partner how he wants to proceed, if he has a plan, and we felt like tacticians, especially in the final fight.Ĭo-op was amazing, everyone had a role, and we felt like a team. My characters were an Undead Necromancer-Pyro shield build, and a Hydro-Aero healer build, and they played quite differently with the support skills and the damage based skills. Really appreciate that the environment plays a HUGE part in the combat, some combos are actually way too good. I was playing this in contrast with Wasteland 2 at some point, and I just started hating that game because I was always comparing it to Divinity. The gameplay was some of the best turn-based combat I ever experienced. I wanna replay this game as soon as possible to learn about Ifan and Sebille. Fane (which was my main character, my buddy played as Beast) was also quite interesting, I don't imagine how the story of the game would unfold without Fane in your team.Beast's was the least interesting, but it was still alright, and the Red Prince's was actually quite good. Lohse's story is amazing, you feel emotional over the course of the game, and it's ending was simply beautiful. The overall story is great, but the stories that really shine in this game are the companion stories. The story while at first seemed like your usual save the world schtick, developped into something more, with plot twists and things not always going your way, it becomes unexpected at times, and almost everything I predicted at the beggining didn't really happen. My favorite fantasy setting is still Dragon Age, but this comes damn close. All the lore, the hugeness of it, all the small characters that have an impact, everything about this world is amazing. I never expected to love this game as much as I did, usually I'm more of a sci-fi guy, but the world of Divinity captured me instantly. I have yet to play this solo, so I'm gonna talk about every aspect of the game from a co-op perspective.
